I ventured into Albany's books in Tsawwassen about 6 weeks into the Covid era (that's what I'll call it) and came out with this book. It was a part of Canada Reads and was nominated for the Giller Prize. It is a quirky story with quirky characters. The whole story takes place in just one day and a restaurant called "The Hazel" in St. John's. Some sad tales, funny tales, and a whole lot going on. A different read.
